KEO – Your Partner for EEBUS

Our background: More than two decades of experience in device development

KEO is a spin-off of the Kellendonk Group. The Group has developed and produced both hardware and software for the mass market over several decades – especially in the areas of heating, white goods, and home and industrial automation. This experience still reflects in the work of our experts, which include numerous skilled embedded developers. The development of high-quality solutions with a long service life is deeply rooted in our company DNA.

EEBUS is our language and we bring it to you

We rely on EEBUS as the best foundation for universal connectivity. Our experts have been involved in the development of this leading global standard for energy in the Internet of Things (IoT) from the very beginning. Today, they are still members of all working groups of the EEBus Initiative and actively participate in the development of specifications and use cases.

We are driven by the alignment of an ecological and economic behaviour

This is emphasized by our efforts to obtain external certifications such as Ökoprofit, ISO 9000 and VDS10000/10. By elaborating and applying a set of coordinated measures we achieve a sustainable reduction of our costs while simultaneously increasing our eco-efficiency.

We don’t merely talk about environmental protection and sustainability, at KEO we prefer to get down to specifics! You can find our detailed environmental mission statement here.

KEO has achieved 100% climate neutrality in 2021. We offset our inevitable emissions through our reliable and long-standing climate partner FORLIANCE. We are currently involved in a renaturation project of two peatland regions in Germany and an internationally recognised peatland forest project in Indonesia. We support the conservation and rewatering which in turn ensures the preservation and regeneration of the peatlands as a global CO2 reservoir.

Become part of the energy world of tomorrow

How are the three megatrends energy revolution, artificial intelligence and data sovereignty related to your new job?

In order to sustainably reduce CO2 emissions, we need an energy system where devices can communicate with each other. In the future, service providers will want to access such energy systems with their algorithms in order to meet customer needs. The data collected in the process should remain under sovereignty of the customers and be subject to the current European data protection laws.

KEO works in the most important German AI project ForeSight, along with the housing industry, DFKI and ZVEI, among others. Together, we create an economically superior eco-system of high-quality energy services and diverse smart living applications. In addition, we are involved in the European cloud project Gaia-X. The energy connectivity everywhere is based on EEBUS.

In the future, millions of e-cars will not only charge their batteries when the sun shines, but also supply the house or power grid with energy when needed. Work with KEO, and large industry players such as BMW, as well as with grid operators such as Tennet, Bayernwerk and Stadtwerke München on the implementation of bi-directional car charging.
